Holdens were on the grid for the first Australian Touring Car Championship in 1960 and, along with great rival Ford, were a key pillar in Australian touring cars over the next six decades.

While the Holden name is disappearing from the Australian automotive landscape, the name will live on in the history of the Australian Touring Car Championship/Supercars and the Bathurst 500/1000.

There are the Toranas, Monaros and Commodores that conquered their rivals; legends such as Peter Brock, Mark Skaife, Craig Lowndes and more; and iconic teams such as the Holden Dealer Team and the Holden Racing Team.

There were legendary performances, including Brock’s first Bathurst win in 1972, the unexpected success for Allan Grice at Bathurst in 1986 and the breakthrough first win for the Holden Racing Team at Bathurst in 1990.

Then there were the periods of domination such as Brock’s run of Bathurst 1000 victories for the Holden Dealer Team, the all-conquering Holden Racing Team efforts of Lowndes and Skaife and the rise of Triple Eight Race Engineering.

This special edition features the best of Holden content published in the pages of V8X Magazine/SupercarXtra Magazine.

Stay tuned for the publication date for the Holden special edition.
